Presenting Abnormal Lateral Load Patterns
47,20 € *
ggf. zzgl. Versand

In this book, two lateral load patterns existing in the FEMA-365 code (the uniform and triangular lateral load patterns) are evaluated.Afterwards, lateral load patterns, high-rise, mid-rise and low-rise structures are considered, load patterns of other structures such as bridges are referred to and other load patterns which have been previously proposed by other researchers are studied. Effects of these load patterns on the results are also discussed in detail. Moreover, a new lateral load pattern is offered for nonlinear static analysis of structural models. This book consists of six chapters: Chapter One: Introduction, Chapter Two: Materials, modeling samples, Chapter Three: Analysis methods and earthquake records, Chapter Four: Types of lateral load distribution patterns, Chapter Five: Evaluation and interpretation of results, Chapter Six: Conclusion

Molecular biology of the placenta is a fascinating research subject to investigate the mechanisms underlying fetal growth abnormalities and developmental disorders. Analysis of Placental Gene Expression Profile in Abnormal Fetal Growth provides a new insight into the gene dysregulation and pathway changes in the placenta of pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction and macrosomia. This book reviews the physiology of the placenta and its divers roles in maintaining a healthy fetal development. There is a summary of the aetiology of abnormal fetal growth and its adverse effects on the future of infants. The main focus of this book is presenting the findings achieved by microarray gene expression analysis in the placentas collected from growth restricted and macrosomic newborns, introducing some candidate genes for screening purposes. In addition, molecular function of dysregulated genes and affected biological pathways have been described in detail.

Cancer can be characterized as a disorder in which affectedcells suffer from abnormal growth due to the malfunctioning of inherited or acquired DNA. This malfunctioning causes invasion, compromise and destruction of tissues and promotion of neovascularisation for survival of the cancer. Often metastasis is formed, that spreads the tumoural cells throughout the body via the lymphatic system and the bloodstream. Cancer accounts for more than 100 distinct diseases presenting diverse risk factors and epidemiology and is therefore held be responsible for one in eight deaths worldwide.

Fibrochondrogenesis

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Fibrochondrogenesis is a rare autosomal recessive form of osteochondrodysplasia, causing abnormal fibrous development of cartilage and related tissues. It is a lethal rhizomelic form of dwarfism, exhibiting both skeletal dysplasia and fibroblastic dysplasia. Death caused by complications of fibrochondrogenesis occurs in infancy. Fibrochondrogenesis is a congenital disorder presenting several features and radiological findings, some which distinguish it from other osteochondrodysplasias. These include: fibroblastic dysplasia and fibrosis of chondrocytes, and flared, widened long bone metaphyses. Other prominent features include dwarfism, shortened ribs that have a concave appearance, micrognathism, macrocephaly, thoracic hypoplasia, enlarged stomach,[8] platyspondyly, and the somewhat uncommon deformity of bifid tongue.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Thalassaemia is an inherited autosomal recessive blood disease. In thalassemia, the genetic defect results in reduced rate of synthesis of one of the globin chains that make up hemoglobin. Reduced synthesis of one of the globin chains can cause the formation of abnormal hemoglobin molecules, thus causing anemia, the characteristic presenting symptom of the thalassemias. Thalassemia is a quantitative problem of too few globins synthesized, whereas sickle-cell anemia (a hemoglobinopathy) is a qualitative problem of synthesis of an incorrectly functioning globin. Thalassemias usually result in underproduction of normal globin proteins, often through mutations in regulatory genes. Hemoglobinopathies imply structural abnormalities in the globin proteins themselves.
