Thousands of patients every year are admitted to hospitals because of irregular, fast, or strong heartbeats. For the portion that will eventually be diagnosed with a heart condition, there are important choices to make moving forward. But there is rarely time in a short doctor’s visit to go over all the details. This comprehensive overview fills that information gap by imparting everything there is to know about abnormal heart rhythms through all stages of care. Jeffrey L. Williams, MD, MS, FACC, FHRS, CPE, has worked to provide patients with complete information. There are various types of arrhythmias, and the benefits and risks of treatments for each will vary for each individual patient. Patients, as well as their families, need a thorough understanding to make a fully informed decision. Along with types of treatments, Dr. Williams discusses what is happening on a physiological level and explains the full evaluation process that doctors use. His knowledge, gained over years of study and practice, offers the what, why, and how of this medical issue, so anyone can make the best decisions for the health of his or her family. 1. When people describe my lifestyle or family as weird, I find comfort, writes author Craig Groeschel. He then shares a Christ-centered philosophy on everything from money to scheduling to purity, to help you break out of the normal rut and live according to the rhythms of God's grace and truth of his word. Normal people are stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Many of their relationships are, at best, strained and, in most cases, just surviving. Even though we live in one of the most prosperous places on earth, normal is still living paycheck to paycheck and never getting ahead. In our oversexed world, lust, premarital sex, guilt, and shame are far more common than purity, virginity, and a healthy married sex life. And when it comes to God, the majority believe in him, but the teachings of scripture rarely make it into their everyday lives. Simply put, normal isn't working. Groeschel's WEIRD will help you break free from the norm to lead a radically abnormal (and endlessly more fulfilling) life. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Tom Schiff. We thirst for purpose, clarity, fulfillment, and direction in our lives. How do we go about sorting through all the self-help books, talks and seminars? The common, normal solutions to navigating life are focused on strengths, gifts, and passion. The reality is quite contrarian to what seems to make sense. The revelations is found in the divine fingerprints of all that we are: our life story, what energized and de-energizes us, our rhythms, and even our pain and weaknesses. It's a different way of approaching clarity of life. At the heart of this book is the understanding that a life filled with passion is radically different than what many of us have been taught. Often it's not in the how do we find life but a commitment to a passionate pursuit. Neurologically, if we ask the question how our brains can't tap the new domains, our brains resorts to typical default solutions that are often inadequate. The way to live life to its fullest is found in abnormal rhythms and principles, that have the tension of questions more than answers. It's a place where strategy is important but an ethos where relationships trump vision. The way we are invited to live life to its fullest is found with a contrarian set of beliefs, values and questions. It's not about quick fixes and simplistic 'solutions'. God works through our weaknesses and our failures. Real vision is found through relationships with God and with other people. Obedience is better than passion. These contrarian concepts have been presented and tested in many business and non-profit settings, including Willow Creek's Leadership Summit where Dave gave a keynote address. The tone of this book was established as Dave thought about what he would want to share with his four third culture children and future leaders. It was Dave's heart that they would walk a life where they experienced life to it's fullest, exploring the new and old domains of world that is constantly changing. 1. Language: English. This specialist book investigates issues related with remote monitoring of EKG signals over commercial wireless sensor networks under various network conditions. The popular wireless sensor networks with default configurations were found to be unable to support transmission of a good quality EKG signal. To improve the quality of EKG signals over the wireless sensors, some open source solutions were tested to improve end-to-end transmission and remote display of the EKG signal. The customized solution comprised of an open source application namely OscilloscopeRF for collecting and sending EKG signals from the remote patient's location over wireless sensors. Two other applications called Oscilloscope GUI and Serial-Forwarder were tested for displaying good quality EKG signals on the remote computer. To further stress test the system, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack conditions were created in the network environment to study the effect DDoS vulnerabilities on the collected EKG signals. The silent DDoS attack conditions in the network were found to alter the collected EKG signals, making it appear falsly as if the patient was having abnormal heart rhythms.

Oxprenolol (Trasacor, Trasicor, Coretal, Laracor, Slow-Pren, Captol, Corbeton, Slow-Trasicor, Tevacor, Trasitensin, Trasidex) is a non-selective beta blocker with some intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. It is used for the treatment of angina pectoris and abnormal heart rhythms. It is also used for treating high blood pressure. Oxprenolol is a lipophilic beta blocker which passes the blood-brain barrier more easily than water soluble beta blockers. As such, it is associated with a higher incidence of CNS-related side effects than hydrophilic ligands such as atenolol, sotalol and nadolol. Oxprenolol is a potent beta-blocker and should not be administered to asthmatics because it can cause irreversible airway failure and inflammation.
